Xochimilco – Mexico
Scope and Content
This consists of consists of thirty-two (32) postcards mailed by Francis P. Gamble to Charles Stuck, Jr. and Martha Mae Stuck by in 1941. This was in response to a 1941 article in the Memphis Commercial Appeal indicating the Stucks were collection picture postcards. This subgroup is divided into two series: Art Reproduction (Series 1) and Photographic Reproduction (Series 2). While many postcards are undated, the collection appears to cover the period between 1920 and 1940. While most of the postcards are of European sites including England, France, Belgium, Germany, Rome, and Vienna. There are also examples from Mexico, and California.
